Wallace State Community College offers both Dental Associate and Dental Hygiene programs that provide students with a comprehensive education in the field of dentistry. These programs are designed to prepare students for careers as dental assistants or dental hygienists, two crucial roles in any dental practice.

The Dental Associate program is a two-year program that focuses on the skills and knowledge required to assist dentists in delivering patient care. Students in this program will learn about dental anatomy and physiology, dental radiology, dental materials, and dental procedures. The program also includes hands-on training in dental labs and clinics, giving students the opportunity to develop their practical skills.

Upon graduation, students will be eligible to take the Dental Assisting National Board (DANB) certification exam. This credential is recognized by dental practices across the country and can help graduates secure employment in a variety of dental settings, including private practices, clinics, and hospitals.

The Dental Hygiene program is a two-year program that provides students with a comprehensive education in oral health and hygiene. Students in this program will learn about dental anatomy and physiology, oral pathology, radiology, pharmacology, and dental hygiene procedures. The program also includes clinical rotations, giving students the opportunity to gain practical experience working with patients.

Upon graduation, students will be eligible to take the National Board Dental Hygiene Examination and the clinical board exam, both of which are required to become licensed dental hygienists. Graduates of this program are equipped to provide preventive and therapeutic dental hygiene services in a variety of settings, including private practices, clinics, and public health facilities.

Both the Dental Associate and Dental Hygiene programs at Wallace State Community College are accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA), which ensures that graduates meet the highest standards of dental education. With small class sizes and experienced faculty, students in these programs receive a quality education that prepares them for successful careers in the field of dentistry.
