Shasta Union High School District offers a Dental Hygiene Program as part of its Career Technical Education (CTE) curriculum. This program is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to pursue a career in dental hygiene.

The Dental Hygiene Program at Shasta Union High School District is a two-year program that is available to high school juniors and seniors. Students who successfully complete the program receive a certificate of completion and are eligible to take the Dental Board of California Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) written and practical examinations.

The program curriculum includes courses in dental anatomy, radiography, infection control, dental materials, and clinical practice. Students also receive instruction in communication and patient management skills, which are essential for success in the dental hygiene profession.

In addition to classroom instruction, students in the Dental Hygiene Program participate in hands-on clinical practice. Under the supervision of licensed dental professionals, students gain experience in performing dental procedures such as prophylaxis, fluoride treatments, and radiographs.
