Seattle Central College offers both dental assisting and dental hygiene programs to students interested in pursuing a career in the dental field.
The Dental Assisting program is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills needed to become a successful dental assistant. The program includes coursework in dental terminology, anatomy and physiology, dental materials, dental radiography, infection control, and dental office procedures. Students also gain practical experience through clinical rotations at dental clinics and private practices.
The Dental Hygiene program is a two-year program that prepares students to become licensed dental hygienists. The program includes coursework in dental anatomy and physiology, oral pathology, radiography, pharmacology, and periodontology. Students also gain practical experience through clinical rotations at dental clinics and private practices.
Both programs are accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation and provide students with the necessary education and training to succeed in the dental field. Graduates of these programs can pursue careers in a variety of settings, including private dental practices, public health clinics, hospitals, and research institutions.
