LISD Tech Center

The Dental Assistant program at LISD Tech Center is a comprehensive training program designed to prepare students for a career as a dental assistant. The program provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary to assist dentists and dental hygienists in the delivery of patient care.

The program is offered through a combination of classroom instruction, laboratory exercises, and clinical experiences. Students learn the basics of dental anatomy, physiology, and terminology, as well as infection control procedures, chairside assisting techniques, and dental radiography.

In addition to classroom instruction, students receive hands-on training in a state-of-the-art dental laboratory. They learn how to prepare dental materials, take impressions, and fabricate temporary restorations. They also gain experience working with dental instruments and equipment.

Clinical experiences are an integral part of the program. Students work in dental offices under the supervision of licensed dental professionals. They assist in the delivery of patient care, perform sterilization and disinfection procedures, and gain valuable experience working with patients.

The program is accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) and prepares students for the Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) examination. Graduates of the program are eligible to apply for entry-level positions as dental assistants in private dental offices, hospitals, and other dental facilities.
