Jordan Academy for Technology and Careers
The Jordan Academy for Technology and Careers (JATC) offers a comprehensive Dental Assistant program that prepares students for entry-level positions in the field of dentistry. This program provides hands-on training in a simulated dental office setting, as well as classroom instruction on a variety of topics related to dental assisting.
The program curriculum covers a wide range of topics, including dental anatomy, radiography, infection control, dental materials, and dental office management. Students will learn how to assist dentists in a variety of procedures, such as fillings, extractions, and cleanings, as well as how to take and develop dental X-rays.
In addition to the technical skills needed to be a successful dental assistant, the JATC program also focuses on communication and interpersonal skills. Students will learn how to communicate effectively with patients, as well as how to work collaboratively with other members of the dental team.
The JATC Dental Assistant program is a full-time, 9-month program that includes both classroom instruction and hands-on training. Graduates of the program are eligible to take the Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) exam, which is offered by the Dental Assisting National Board (DANB).
