Hixson High School
The Hixson High School Dental Assistant program is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to become a qualified dental assistant. The program is offered through the Career and Technical Education Department at Hixson High School in Tennessee.
The program includes both classroom instruction and hands-on training in a dental office setting. Students will learn about dental anatomy, dental terminology, infection control, dental procedures, and dental materials. They will also learn about patient care, record-keeping, and communication skills.
In addition to classroom instruction, students in the Hixson High School Dental Assistant program will have the opportunity to participate in clinical experiences at local dental offices. These experiences will allow students to apply their knowledge and skills in a real-world setting and gain valuable practical experience.
Upon completion of the program, students will have the necessary skills to work as a dental assistant in a variety of settings, including private dental offices, dental clinics, and hospitals. They will also be eligible to take the Dental Assisting National Board (DANB) exam to become a Certified Dental Assistant (CDA).
