First Coast Technical College
First Coast Technical College (FCTC) offers a comprehensive Dental Assisting program that prepares students to work as dental assistants in various dental settings. The program is designed to provide students with the knowledge, skills, and training necessary to become successful dental assistants.
The Dental Assisting program at FCTC is a full-time program that can be completed in approximately one year. The program includes both classroom instruction and hands-on clinical training. Students will learn about dental anatomy and physiology, dental materials, dental radiology, dental office procedures, and more.
In addition to classroom instruction, students will also gain practical experience in dental assisting through clinical training. The program includes a clinical rotation where students will work in a dental office alongside licensed dental professionals. This hands-on experience will allow students to develop their skills in a real-world setting.
Graduates of the FCTC Dental Assisting program will be eligible to take the Dental Assisting National Board (DANB) exam to become a Certified Dental Assistant (CDA). CDAs are recognized nationwide as skilled dental professionals who have met rigorous standards in education and training.
