Century College
Century College offers dental assisting and dental hygiene programs for students interested in pursuing careers in the dental field.
The dental assisting program at Century College is a one-year diploma program that provides students with the skills and knowledge necessary to assist dentists in providing patient care. Students learn about dental anatomy, dental procedures, dental radiography, infection control, and dental office management. They also have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience by participating in a clinical rotation at a dental office. Upon completion of the program, students are eligible to take the Dental Assisting National Board (DANB) examination to become a Certified Dental Assistant (CDA).
The dental hygiene program at Century College is a two-year Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree program. Students learn about oral health, dental hygiene procedures, patient education, and community health. They also receive training in radiography, local anesthesia, and nitrous oxide administration. Students participate in clinical rotations at a variety of dental offices and community clinics. Upon completion of the program, students are eligible to take the National Board Dental Hygiene Examination (NBDHE) and a clinical board examination to become licensed dental hygienists.
