Wake Technical Community College
Sure, I’d be happy to provide information about the Dental Assistant and Dental Hygiene programs at Wake Technical Community College.
Wake Tech offers a Dental Assistant program that provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary to work in a variety of dental settings, including private practices, hospitals, and clinics. The program includes courses in dental anatomy, dental materials, radiography, infection control, and chairside assisting. Graduates of the program are eligible to take the Dental Assisting National Board (DANB) certification exam.
Wake Tech also offers a Dental Hygiene program that prepares students to work as licensed dental hygienists. The program includes courses in dental hygiene theory and practice, periodontology, pharmacology, radiography, and oral pathology. Students also gain hands-on experience through clinical rotations at community dental clinics. Graduates of the program are eligible to take the National Board Dental Hygiene Examination and the North Carolina State Board Examination to become licensed dental hygienists.
Both programs at Wake Tech are accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) and are designed to prepare students for successful careers in the dental field.
